The three implements in Tools for Tasting emerged when I realized how often I was switching utensils to be able to stir, slice and sip something safely and conveniently. Wouldn’t other serious cooks appreciate specially-designed tools dedicated to the vital tasks of tasting food dishes in preparation?
When I couldn’t find anything anywhere that improved on what I was using, I approached a designer in Scotland to work with me in creating the shapes, angles, weight and feel that I thought would allow me to sample cooking food conveniently, efficiently, and safely.
After the designer had prototypes made to test, I thought others might enjoy having these useful and handsome implements available in their kitchens as well.
PS: When you get to the Check Out page, our program will calculate the number of Tools for Tasting sets you want to buy. Each one is accorded a discount if purchased as a gift. We assume that even if a Tools for Tasting set is being acquired for your own use, it is a gift to yourself. To be honest, the idea behind offering a discount for sets purchased as a gift is to stimulate word of mouth conversations about the product. If you give a set as a gift — even to yourself— research shows that it is likely that you will talk about it with the recipient and perhaps the recipient will tell someone else—or describe what she received in her social media comments. We hope, quite naturally, that this activity will result in additional sales of what we think is a very useful product.
